What Does “Creativity Unlocked" Mean to Jami?
Hi and welcome! Let me tell you why I built my site for both readers and writers...
Far too much writing advice dictates "the right way to write" rules, and that rigidity can lock up creativity and prevent authors from reaching their full potential.
As one example, most advice assumes all pantsers — those who write by the seat of their pants — are hopelessly inept and insists they must plot their stories in advance. Umm...
With my first attempt at writing, I tried to plot my story because that's what "real" authors were supposed to do. But plotting didn't work for me.
At all.
(Guess who's a pantser, a successful one? *raises hand*)
Just because an approach works for one person doesn't mean it will work for others (and it definitely won't work for everyone). Writers all have different brains and processes, goals for their career, and motivations for the types of stories they want to tell.
Here, I hope my writing resources will help others embrace their unique processes, stories, and career path to unlock their creativity.
