At the end of this class, students will have an overview of WordPress, know how to set up a basic website, and even know how to add a blog, as we cover the following steps:

  • Decide on website goals
  • Organize information for a set of pages: About Me, Books, Contact, etc.
  • Create a Word Press account
  • Choose a Word Press theme and style
  • Create static Word Press pages and a blog page
  • Intended for beginners and students with no knowledge of WordPress (or of creating websites and blogs at all!), we'll get you set up fast.

I've blogged on the WordPress platform for over a decade, even teaching myself coding to customize settings on my site. But for this course, my most important skill is in translating gobbledygook into English (i.e., explaining technical topics to the non-technical).
